Vardan Harutyunyan, Head of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, visited Iran

29 April, 2017

The Armenian Delegation headed by Vardan Harutyunyan, Head of the State Revenue Committee of the Government of Armenia, paid a working visit to Iran.
Vardan Harutyunyan and Masoud Karbasian, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration, discussed issues for lifting the cooperation between the customs authorities of Armenia and Iran to a new level. Interlocutors emphasized that a new level of cooperation would further contribute to the expansion of bilateral trade, transit freight forwarding and development of tourism.
The President of the Iranian Customs Administration highlighted that both countries should use the Persian Gulf – Black Sea international transport corridor as indicated in the Joint Statement of the Presidents on December 21, 2016 in Yerevan.
The Head of the State Revenue Committee of the Government of Armenia expressed his satisfaction with the steps undertaken by the Iranian side towards reducing entry tariffs required for Armenian passenger vehicles and hoped that the issue would be solved in near future.
After discussions, a Protocol between the State Revenue Committee of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration on Exchange of Customs Statistic Information was signed.
During their stay in Tehran, members of the Armenian delegation also met with Archbishop Sepuh Sargsyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Tehran and representatives of the Iranian-Armenian Community.
