Ambassador Toumanian’s meeting with the Chairman of the Education and Research Committee of the Iranian Majles

On August 20, Armenian Ambassador to Iran Artashes Toumanian met with Mohammad Mahdi Zahedi, Chairman of the Education and Research Committee of the Islamic Cosultative Assembly (Majles) of Iran to discuss the implementation process of agreements reached between the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia and Ministry of Science, Technology and Research of Iran.
During the meeting, Ambassador Toumanian addressed the issue of recognition of Armenian higher educational degrees by Iran.
For his part, Mohammad Mahdi Zahedi expressed his gratitude for organizing Committee’s delegation visit to Armenia in July. He also expressed his willingness to invite his counterpart in the National Assembly of Armenia to visit Tehran.
Speaking about developing bilateral cooperation in science, Chairman of the Education and Research Committee of the Iranian Parliament expressed his readiness to encourage inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Interlocutors also touched upon other important issues related to bilateral cooperation in education and science.
