Armenian Ambassador’s Meeting with Yazd Officials

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to the I.R. of Iran Mr. Artashes Toumanian along with a delegation had a trip to Yazd on September 23 and 24, where Mr. Ambassador had meetings with the Governor of Yazd, Mr. Mohammad Ali Talebi and the Mayor of the city, Mr. Jamaleddin Azizi Bandarabadi. In this trip Ambassador’s wife, Mrs. Anahid Shahverdian, was accompanying the Ambassador.

In the meeting with the Governor, both sides exchanged views about bilateral and decentralized cooperation between two countries in various fields - industry, trade, science and education, high-tech, tourism etc.

Both sides stressed the role and importance of bilateral visits and meetings of experts in strengthening ties.

In the meeting with the Mayor, Mr. Azizi Bandarabadi gave a thorough explanation about the potentials of Yazd in the of sense economy, culture and tourism. An initial accord was reached to name the cities of Gyumri and Yazd as sisters.
