Tribute Evening for Hovhaness Toumanian

On December 27, In Armenian Club a literal-artistic evening was held dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of the Pan-Armenian poet, Hovhaness Toumanian, his legacy and the debut of Farsi translation of his works compiled in a book.

The initial idea for holding this tribute evening belonged to the Armenian Embassy and the Museum of Hovhaness Toumanian (Armenia). The book has been compiled by Varand Kurkchian and Ghavam-el-din Razavizadeh, printed in “Nayiri” publishing house.

The evening program included artistic performances, declamations and film based on the well-known poet’s works. Iranian intellectuals, personalities from Armenian community and literature lovers were present in the event.

In this Toumanian-friendly evening, Artashes Toumanian, the Armenian Ambassador, had remarks dedicated to the occasion while appreciating the works and legacy of the Pan-Armenian poet, he pointed out the importance and role of the cultural dialog in Armenia-Iran relations.
