National Tree Planting Day marked by diplomats in Javanmard park District 5

On the occasion of National Tree Planting Day, the ceremony of Preserving of Earth for Future Generations was also held in Javanmard park of 5^th district of Tehran municipality.

The event had been organized by the same district and in collaboration with Asian Mayors Forum and Society of the spouses of diplomats of Iranian foreign ministry.

Spouse of the Iranian Foreign Minister, Ms. Amir Abdollahian, Ehsan Sharifi, Head of district 5, Gholamzadeh, Deputy of International Affairs of Tehran Municipality and secretary general of Asian Mayors Forum, Landi, the representative of Women’s department of Tehran municipality were present in event.

The ceremony was attended by the spouses of accredited ambassadors and representatives of foreign missions in the I.R. of Iran. Participants of foreign countries were Armenia, Algeria, Brunei Darussalam, China, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Mexico, The Philippines, South Africa, Syria, Thailand, Uruguay, Zimbabwe. As well as representatives of UNDP, United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan and Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).

Participating ladies planted trees of apple and olive on the occasion.

Gholamzadeh made the remarks over the ceremony stressing that the Tree Planting Day symbolizes the necessity and significance of the environment preservation and its expansion in the Capital adding the beauty of the tradition was enhanced by the participation of spouses of Ambassadors which shows the friendship of countries.
