Debut of “Haj Jalal” book in Armenian

On May 18, during a ceremony in the 34th International Book Fair venue in Foreign Publishers Committee’ place the debut of “Haj Jalal” book was held.

Hamid Reza Haji Babaei, Majlis MP of Hamadan and the relative of Haji Jalal, Arsen Avagyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the R. of Armenia to the I.R. of Iran, Ara Shahverdian MP of Tehran and northern Iranian Armenians in the parliament of Iran, Ms. Leila Nazari Gilande, author of the book, Gevorg Asatrian, the translator and a number of officials attended the event.

Hamid Reza Haji Babaei, the relative of Haji Jalal, in his speech in the evening noted that Haji Jalal was not a well-known and notable personality, though he had been injured three times in war front during Iran-Iraq war and during the shelling of Friday Prayer of Hamadan by Iraqi forces, his family members and relatives had been martyred during the war as well.

Gevorg Asatrian, the translator of the book, in his speech on the occasion pointing to his twenty years of background in the field of translation, noted that the translation of “Haj Jalal” book was not a matter of language and literature merely, but it had been a complicated work through a psychological perspective and he had been emotionally affected and tears rolled down his eyes many times during the translation. When the translation of the book was proposed him, at first, he had thought it was a book simply with the theme of war, but later he noticed it has focused on peace, love to the homeland, altruism and bravery.
