Petition for removing the blockade of Lachin corridor

04 August, 2023

“Anahid” academic, cultural and literal quarterly in “Karzar.net” has run a campaign to raise awareness to condemn the illegal blockade of Lachin corridor and to call for preventing the humanitarian catastrophe in Artsakh.

“In support of the Armenian people of Artsakh, for preventing organized genocide, condemning the blockade of Lachin corridor and obstacle the sending of food and medical aid to Artsakh by the government of Baku.

The recent events taking place in Artsakh, neighboring Iran, hurt the heart of every human regardless of nationality or religion. The illegal siege and hostage-taking of 120,000 Armenians living in Artsakh by the government of Baku because of totally delusive reasons is a sign of a state organized genocide. Running out of food in the stores, lack of medications and medical equipment despite existing two thousand pregnant mothers and thirty thousand innocent children, regardless of the decisive verdict of the International Court of Justice considering the blockade of the Lachine corridor as illegal, shows Baku's offensive manners and ignorance to the agreements and international statements.

The unwillingness of the member states of the United Nations Security Council to punish the government of Baku for removing the blockade of the Lachin corridor and providing essential food and medications for Artsakh is a sign of lack of attention and comprehension of the depth of the human disaster we are witnessing. The inactivity of the United Nations and the Security Council, as well as international organizations, has caused Baku to become bolder in restricting the innocent people of Artsakh. It is necessary for the United Nations Security Council to pass a binding resolution and urge Baku to immediately remove the blockade of the Lachin corridor and ensure the security of the residents of Artsakh. Any negligence in this regard will cause another genocide against the Armenian people like the one organized in 1915 by Turkish Ottoman government, a true Genocide. As for the statesmen of Baku, a policy of ethnic cleansing of the people of Artsakh is running in their mind.”
