Armenia, Iran inked MOU on labor exchange and technical training co-op by Ministers of labor and social spheres

Armenian Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan, during his visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran had a meeting with the Iranian Minister of Cooperation, Labor and Social Welfare, Seyed Solat Mortazavi.

During the meeting, the possibilities of expanding cooperation between the two countries in the fields of labor, social security, welfare and a number of issues of mutual interest were discussed and a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed.

The MOU, signed by Armenian Minister of Labor and Social affairs Narek Mkrtchyan and his Iranian counterpart Solat Mortazavi focuses on cooperation in the fields of labor exchange, technical and professional training, as well as, welfare and empowerment of the disabled it also covers economic cooperation between the two countries.

Speaking in the signing ceremony Mkrtchyan praised Iran’s interest in boosting trade ties with Armenia, saying: “In the few days that we have been in Iran, we established paths of cooperation more than expected, and this is a source of satisfaction” and expressed confidence that in the near future the cooperation will continue to develop based on the best interests of the countries and peoples.

Iranian Minister, Mortazavi said: “Iran is fully prepared to provide expertise and send labor to Armenia while establishing technical and vocational training centers in the country, and transferring experiences.”
