The Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the I.R. of Iran had organized a tribute concert for the 80th birth anniversary of Armenian well-known composer, Tigran Mansurian.

The event was held in Tehran ''Vahdat Hall'' on July 22, with the performance of National Chamber choir of Armenia along with the artistic director and the conductor of the choir, Mr. Robert Mlkeyan, who were invited to Tehran by the Armenian Embassy for this purpose. Mr. Mansurian, himself, was also presented in his evening.

During the concert, the lyrics of Armenian poets: Hovhanness Toumanian, Avedik Isahakian, Yeghisheh Charents and Kostan Zarian were sung, who were the creation of Mr. Mansurian.

The songs composed by Mansurian sounding new for the majority of Iranian audience caused great eagerness and warmth in the hall.

Maestro Mansurian, in his concluding remarks on the stage, highly appreciated the efforts of the Armenian Embassy for organizing of the evening as well as the cooperation of the Iranian officials in this regard. He hoped to have more events like this which are for mutual benefits of Armenian and Iranian cultural ties development.
