28.07.2019 • Mr. Ambassador Received “Arvand” Free Zone CEO

On July 28, Armenian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Iran Mr. Artashes Toumanian received the chief executive officer of “Arvand” free zone, Mr. Kamal Rezaee. During the meeting the Ambassador’s guest presented some information about “Arvand” free zone area and the economic potentialities of Khuzestan province, where the free zone is located. Mr. Rezaee was interested in getting some information about Armenia-Iran economic relations and the possibilities and capabilities of Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Mr. Ambassador gave full information and explanation in this regard to his guest. In the end of meeting Mr. Rezaee invited the Ambassador to pay a visit to Khuzestan province in order to be introduced with the industrial activities and potentialities of the free zone.  

24.07.2019 • Concert of National Chamber Choir of Armenia in Ararat “Komitas” hall of Tehran

On July 24, an evening was held in Ararat Armenian organization “Komitas” hall on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Komitas and the 80th anniversary of Tigran Mansurian. In that event the National chamber choir of Armenia had performances by the artistic director and conductor of the choir Mr. Robert Mlkeyan. The guest of honor of the evening was reknown composer Tigran Mansurian. A number of authorities of Armenian communities from Tehran and Isfahan (New Julfa) were present in the evening. The choir had performances of Komitas and Mansurian, later the choir of Ararat joined them. The evening ended with the Erebouni-Yerevan joint performance of both choirs.  

22.07.2019 • Event Dedicated to Tigaran Mansurian’s 80th Birth Anniversary

The Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the I.R. of Iran had organized a tribute concert for the 80th birth anniversary of Armenian well-known composer, Tigran Mansurian. The event was held in Tehran ''Vahdat Hall'' on July 22, with the performance of National Chamber choir of Armenia along with the artistic director and the conductor of the choir, Mr. Robert Mlkeyan, who were invited to Tehran by the Armenian Embassy for this purpose. Mr. Mansurian, himself, was also presented in his evening. During the concert, the lyrics of Armenian poets: Hovhanness Toumanian, Avedik Isahakian, Yeghisheh Charents and Kostan Zarian were sung, who were the creation of Mr. Mansurian. The songs composed by Mansurian sounding new for the majority of Iranian audience caused great eagerness and warmth in the hall. 21.07.2019 • Event Dedicated to Komitas 150th Anniversary

Armenian Embassy in Iran had organized a tribute concert to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of the world reknown Armenian ethnomusicologist, composer, singer, choir master, Komitas. The event was held in Tehran “Vahdat Hall” on July 21, with the performance of National Chamber choir of Armenia along with the artistic director and the conductor of the choir, Mr. Robert Mlkeyan, who were invited to Tehran by the Armenian Embassy for this purpose. During the two hours’ event, the works of Komitas were presented to its finest level, creating great enthusiasm among the audience and genuine music lovers. The Great Armenian composer, Tigran Mansurian, who traveled to Iran with this group, was also among the audience of the hall. 19.07.2019 • Minister of High Technological Industry of Armenia Visited Iran

From July 17 to 19, Minister of High Technological Industry of Armenia Hakob Arshakyan participated in the Smart Iran Conference in Tehran at the invitation of Mohammad-Javad Azari Jahromi, Minister of Information Technologies and Telecommunication of Iran. The Conference had gathered delegations from Russia, Iraq, Turkey and several other countries, as well as representatives of international organizations. During his visit, Minister Arshakyan took part in the opening of the “25th ELCOMP-2019 International Exhibition”.  

03.07.2019 • Armenia-Iran Intergovernmental Commission Holds 16th Meeting in Tehran

Chaired by RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and IRI Minister of Energy Reza Ardakanian, the 16th meeting of the Joint Armenia-Iran Intergovernmental Commission was held in Tehran. Addressing those present, the Armenian Deputy Prime Minister thanked the Iranian side for hosting the meeting and for a warm welcome shown to the Armenian delegation. Mher Grigoryan described the work done by the working groups as quite effective and expressed confidence that the sides would have enough time to coordinate all issues on the bilateral trade and economic agenda. The Deputy Premier noted that as underpinned by deeply-rooted mutual trust and good neighborly relations, the dynamically developing Armenian-Iranian linkages are the key to building ever closer ties of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries. 30.06.2019 • Armenian Ambassador Meeting with the Minister of Roads and Urban Development

On June 30, a meeting was held between Mr. Artashes Toumanian the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Iran and Mr. Mohammad Eslami, the Minister of roads and urban development of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In the meeting both sides stressed the well implementation of the north-south corridor between two countries as a major transportation way, they also pointed out the importance of EEC-Iran trade agreement and the future opportunities that this agreement could bring to both countries. 

28.06.2019 • Memorial Service in Saint Sarkis Cathedral Tehran

On June 28, a commemoration ceremony was held in Saint Sarkis Cathedral in Tehran in memory of passing of Mr. Garnik Badalyan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Turkmenstan, Tajikstan and Afghanistan. The memorial service was conducted by Armenian Diocese of Tehran, His Grace Archbishop Sebouh Sarkissian. A large number of Armenian community authorities, friends and the Armenian Embassy staff in Tehran were present in the ceremony. The event was concluded by the remarks about the late Colleague Mr. Badalyan by Mr. Artashes Toumanian, the Armenian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Iran and Armenian Prelate and Archbishop, Sebouh Sarkissian.  

26.06.2019 • Director of National Museum of Iran Received by the Ambassador

On June 26, the Director of National Museum of Iran, Mr. Nokandeh, was Armenian Ambassador’s guest. Mr. Toumanian and Mr. Nokandeh exchanged views about the bilateral cultural ties between Armenia and Iran, particularly in the field of museums, as History Museum of Armenia and National Museum of Iran both have potentials to expand cooperation. Two years ago National Museum of Iran exhibited historical relics of Armenia. The exhibition was held for three months under the title of “Iran and Armenia: memory of the land” which provided a firm base for future cooperation between two museums. 25.06.2019 • Armenian Ambassador Met Iranian Energy Ministry

In a meeting on June 25 between Mr. Toumanian - Ambassador of Armenia in Iran and the Minister of Energy Mr. Ardakanian who is also the Iranian Co-chair of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission of both countries, they pointed out some issues regarding bilateral cooperation, particularly the construction of the third high voltage electricity line, the gas-electricity exchange project, construction of Hydroelectric Power Plant in Meghri etc. Mr. Ambassador informed Mr. Ardakanian about the preparatory activities for the 16th meeting of Joint Intergovernmental Commission to be held in Tehran. Mr. Ardakanian also hailed the coming meeting, adding that Iranian side has done all preparations to receive the guests from Armenia on this meeting. The 16th meeting of Intergovernmental Commission between the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran will be held on July 2 and 3 in Tehran.
