Event on the occasion of Journalist Day in Iran organized by the Armenian Diocese of Tehran

On August 8, Diocesan Council of the Armenian Diocese of Tehran organized an event on the occasion of Journalist Day in Iran which were attended by representatives of more than ten Iranian mass media companies. Iranian journalists visited St. Sarkis, St. Thaddeus-Bartholomew and St. Gevorg Armenian churches in Tehran.

On the same day, Iranian journalists met with the representatives of the Armenian Community in Tehran at “Ararat” organization’s headquarters. In their speeches, Head of the Diocesan Council of the Armenian Diocese of Tehran Robert Beglaryan and Chairman of the Central Board of “Ararat” organization Gevorg Vardan talked about the history and activity of the Iranian-Armenian community.

In the end of the gathering, Artur Hakobyan, third secretary of the Embassy of Armenia in Tehran, conveyed the congratulatory message of Ambassador Artashes Toumanian on Iran’s Journalist Day in which he particularly stated: “Cooperation with the Iranian mass media has its own distinct place in embassy’s activities. Today we can state with satisfaction that a strong partnership has been built with the Iranian press. The embassy is undertaking practical steps to raise to a new level existing cooperation between Armenian and Iranian journalists. We share with Iranian collegues a common goal of raising knowledge about Armenia among the Iranian society and vice versa. Embassy is actively working in this direction as well.”
