Ambassador Tօumanian visited Fars Province

On October 14-15, Mr. Artashes Toumanian - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Islamic Republic of Iran paid a visit to Fars Province.

At the meeting with Mr. Esmail Tabadar – Governor of the Province, interlocutors discussed the possibilities for economic activity in Armenia, deepening the bilateral cooperation in the fields of industry, agriculture, information and high technologies, as well as tourism and culture.

In Shiraz Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture Ambassador Toumanian informed in detail about the current economic developments in Armenia, spoke about economic bilateral cooperation with Iran and reffered to the statistical indicators characterizing business environment of Armenia.

In the context of cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Community, Mr. Toumanian attached great importance to deepening regional economic relations between Armenia and Iran, highlighted the new anti-corruption policy of the Armenian Government and recommended that representatives of the business circles of the Province should visit Armenia to get acquainted with the opportunities of economic activity there.

Within the framework of his visit, Ambassador Toumanian visited Shiraz University and had a meeting with Mr. Alireza Afsharifar - Vice President of the University. Mr. Afsharifar presented the scientific-educational activities of the University, spoke about the international relations of the University that had recently been founded, as well as teacher-student exchange programs.

Ambassador Toumanian reffered to the educational system of Armenia and in particular, the activities of the Armenian Universities. An agreement was reached to send a delegation of the Shiraz University to Armenia in order to get acquainted with the possibilities of cooperation.

The Armenian Ambassador visited a number of industrial enterprises in the Province of Fars and got acquainted with their activities.

Ambassador Toumanian was also invited to the "Armenian Club" of Shiraz, where he met with the representatives of the Armenian community of Fars.

The Armenian Ambassador and his accompanying delegation visited the historical and cultural site of Persepolis.
