Armenian Ambassador’s Visits in East Azerbaijan Province

On December 3, Artashes Toumanian, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Islamic Republic of Iran, with a delegation had a visit to the center of the Eastern Azerbaijan province, Tabriz city.

The Armenian Ambassador and the delegation were received by Mr. Mohammad Reza Pourmohammadi, the Governor General of the Province. In the meeting the issues regarding the Armenia - Iran relations were discussed, particularly the role of provincial institutions and business people in bilateral trade and investments, views about the activities in cultural and tourism areas also were exchanged.

In another meeting with nearly hundred businessmen from the Province in Tabriz Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (TZCCIM), Mr. Ambassador introduced the economic situation of Armenia and the conditions for investments and doing business. EEU - Iran Preferential Agreement and its positive consequences for trade was stressed. In the end, Mr. Ambassador gave extensive answers to the interested businessmen’s questions. Clips were shown and some promotional handouts were distributed for further information.

During his stay in the Province, Mr. Ambassador also visited some industrial sites to get familiar with manufacturing and technical potentials of the Province in order to enhance the bilateral cooperation.
