Armenian delegation in Ahwaz

On Dec. 14 -15 Arsen Avagyan, Armenian Ambassador to the I. R. of Iran heading a delegation paid a visit to Ahwaz city in Khuzestan province. Vardan Voskanyan the dean of the Iranian Studies in the faculty of Oriental studies of Yerevan State University was accompanying the Armenian Ambassador.

The Armenian delegation visited Shahid Chamran University, toured the library of the University and the Farsi language teaching center and had meeting with the president, authorities and academic staff of the University.

Cooperation between Yerevan State University and University of Shahid Chamran in Ahwaz, particularly with Farsi language teaching center existing in the specialized center of university was discussed. Both sides agreed to have bilateral visits, organize joint events and language courses.

On the occasion of 30^th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between R. of Armenia and the I.R. of Iran an exhibition opened in the University, the exhibited theme is documents (exhibited copies) of Qajar era which is kept in Matenadaran, Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts in Yerevan, besides the exhibition the book debut introduction was held as well, particularly the bilingual dictionary of diplomatic terms in Armenian-Farsi and Farsi-Armenian, compiled by Vahagn Afyan, Head of the department of Bordering countries in Foreign Ministry of Armenia and holder of PHD degree. Other books introduced in the ceremony were; anthology of poems named “Hello Armenia” authored by Abbas Eqbal Mehran, as well as “Armenian Golgotha” by Grigoris Balakian, ”Shushi ” by Sero Khanzadyan, “Buffalo” by Hrant Matevosyan , translated into Farsi from Armenian by Norayr Mehrabyan the translator of the Armenian Embassy in Tehran.

The Armenian delegation also visited some companies located in the Technological Park of Khuzestan, the possibilities for economic cooperation between Armenia and the mentioned companies were discussed and agreed accordingly.
