50th anniversary of consecration of Saint Sarkis Cathedral of Tehran marked

On May 12, in an exclusive evening the 50^th anniversary of consecration of Saint Sarkis Cathedral of Tehran was held in the area of the Cathedral under the patronage of Archbishop Sebouh Sarkissyan, Prelate of Armenian Diocese of Tehran, the event had been organized by the Church Committee of the St. Sarkis Church.

The ceremony started by Lord’s Prayer, later Vardapet (archimandrite) Vaghinak Meloyan read the Pontifical Message of His Holiness Aram I Catholicos of Cilicia on the occasion.

The public attending the event enjoyed Jubilee Coir performance led by choirmaster Razmik Ohanyan, in other sections of the evening the choir of “Elbis Ferahyan” kindergarten conducted by Arpine Haroutunyan and the “Nor Dzayner” choir of Educational Council of Tehran Armenian Prelacy conducted by Arpi Simroujyan had their performances.

A film presenting the background and path covered through the 50 years’ life of the Cathedral was shown. The concluding of the evening was address of Archbishop Sebouh Sarkissyan, Prelate of Armenian Diocese of Tehran on the occasion.

Arsen Avagyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the R. of Armenia to the I.R. of Iran was present in this event.
