Academic on-line session on Iranian history based on Armenian sources

An online specialized academic panel was held on June 18 between Armenian and Iranian academics by collaboration of department of Iranian Studies of Yerevan state University (YSU) and the Iranian Society of History the Khuzestan province branch.

Keynote speakers of the panel were professor Vardan Voskanyan, Iranologist and the head of the relevant department of YSU and dr. Shahram Jalilian, professor of history from the department of History of “Shahid Chamran” University of Ahvaz.

This panel was devoted to examine the historical book of Ghazar Parpetsi, the Armenian chronicler and historian of 5^th-6^thcentury (in Sassanid era). Garoun Sarkissian, the Farsi translator of the book attended the session as well. The moderator was dr. Abbas Eghbal Mehran.

This was the first edition of the academic series which aims to introduce different layers in the history and the impacts of the civilizations of Armenia and Iran in an academic framework to the Iranian audience.
