Sister cities of Gyumri and Yazd to expand their ties

On July 8 a delegation from Armenian city of Gyumri paid three days visit to the historical Yazd city on the occasion of 6^th anniversary of inscription of Yazd in UNESCO world heritage list and to expand the cooperation between two cities as well. The Armenian delegation comprised the assistant of the mayor of Gyumri, Aram Shaboyan and Karapet Khubesaryan, the expert from the foreign affairs’ department in Gyumri municipality.

The Armenian delegation during their stay in Yazd had meetings with the mayor, officials of the municipality and the commercial chamber of the province. The sides discussed the capabilities and potentials of the boosting the ties between these two sister cities. Aram Shaboyan in this regard noted the existing potentials particularly in the fields of electronics, science parks, industry, tourism handicrafts and medicine.

Gyumri in the R. of Armenia and Yazd in the I.R. of Iran are two renowned historical cities and signed to be Sister cities in 2021.
