Armenian Ambassador to Iran visited Isfahan/New Julfa

Arsen Avagyan along with his family members visited New Julfa Isfahan on January 3.

On the first day of the visit, Armenian Ambassador had meetings with Bishop Sipan Kejejian, Prelate of the Armenian Community in Isfahan and south of Iran, officials and representatives of the community. Later they toured Vank cathedral, the educational complex and “Ararat” sport and cultural center, where he met with the members of the center’s board as well.

On the second day, visiting the cultural heritages of Isfahan was scheduled.

In Armenian traditions January 5 is the feast day that commemorates not only the birth of Christ, but also his baptism by John the Baptist, on this occasion a church evening service was held at St.Stepanos church and the next day morning at St. Bethlehem church. Ambassador Avagyan and the family attended both ceremonies.
