On January 27 a contract was signed between State Revenue Committee of the R. of Armenia and Iranian Tana Energy Management company to modernize and reconstruct the Meghri border crossing point compound. The cost of the contract is 18 million 495 thousand euros.

The construction project will be completed by 2026 and the border crossing point is going to be modernized there by.

The modernization of the Meghri border checkpoint is being carried out with loans and grants provided by the European Union and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
