Iranian delegation visited Matenadaran

On February 28, an Iranian delegation visited Matenadaran, Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, in Yerevan. The Iranian guests were Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the I.R. of Iran in the R. of Armenia, Morteza Abedin Varamin, Iran’s Consul General in Kapan and the delegation headed by Seyyed Solat Mortazavi, Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare. The guests toured Matendaran guided by Nazeni Gharibian, Head of the Museum Department and Yvet Tajarian, senior researcher in oriental studies.

Ms. Tajarian had briefing for the Iraniann delegation on the exhibition underway “Iran during Qajar era” and the displayed items; gildings, book covers, decrees belonging to that period and photos by Antoin Sevruguin, founder of photography in Iran, selected from private collections to be displayed during the exhibition.
