Ceremonial reception dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia

On January 30, a ceremonial reception dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia was held in Tehran. The event was attended by high-ranking representatives of the Iranian Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, the General Staff, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Armenian deputies of the Majlis, ambassadors accredited to the Islamic Republic of Iran, military attachés, as well as representatives of the Iranian-Armenian community.

Armenian Ambassador Grigor Hakobyan, in his welcoming remarks, congratulated the Armenian Armed Forces on their 33rd anniversary and reaffirmed the balanced and pragmatic foreign policy of the Government of the Republic of Armenia. He emphasized Armenia's commitment to achieving lasting regional stability and peace through diplomatic dialogue.

Ambassador Hakobyan noted that within the framework of Armenia’s regional policy, further deepening relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran—anchored in natural interests and mutual trust—is of particular importance.

The Military Attaché of the Republic of Armenia to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Colonel Sevada Shabanyan, presented the process of the Armenian Armed Forces’ formation, the current challenges facing the army, its goals, and the reforms being implemented.

In his speech, Deputy Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force, Brigadier General Mehdi Hadian, congratulated the Armenian Armed Forces on their anniversary and emphasized that any geopolitical changes in the region are unacceptable for the Islamic Republic of Iran. He reaffirmed Tehran’s support for the territorial integrity and inviolability of the borders of regional countries.
