Foreign Minister of Armenia received the Ambassador of Iran on the occasion of the completion of his mission

On September 15, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission.

Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that although Ambassador Sobhani served during a rather challenging period, the two countries nevertheless managed not only to overcome difficulties but also to achieve tangible results in their bilateral relations. In this context, the interlocutors discussed the ongoing and future steps aimed at advancing the Armenia–Iran strategic partnership, which encompasses a number of areas of mutual interest, including infrastructure, energy and others.

Both sides underlined that Armenia–Iran cooperation is based on the friendship between the two peoples, unconditional respect for principles essential to regional peace and mutual understanding established on key issues.

In recognition of his significant contribution to the strengthening and development of friendly relations, and the deepening of cooperation between Armenia and Iran, Minister Mirzoyan presented Ambassador Mehdi Sobhani with the Order of Friendship, awarded to him by a decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia, and wished him success in his future endeavors.
