On October 27, Grigor Hakobyan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Islamic Republic of Iran, visited the Institute for Iran and Eurasia Studies (IRAS) and participated in a meeting attended by Mehdi Sanaei, Director of the Institute and Political Advisor to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, along with a group of experts and researchers specializing in Armenian studies.

During the meeting, Ambassador Hakobyan presented a comprehensive overview of Armenia–Iran relations, outlining the ongoing initiatives between the two countries and the latest developments concerning the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan and efforts toward establishing lasting peace in the region. He also highlighted the process of unblocking regional economic infrastructure, as stipulated in the joint statement signed by the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the United States in Washington on August 8, emphasizing that this process must proceed in full accordance with the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, jurisdiction, and reciprocity of all states.

Following his remarks, the Ambassador and the IRAS experts engaged in an in-depth exchange of views on regional dynamics, existing challenges, and the respective positions of Armenia and Iran during an interactive question-and-answer session. Both sides expressed their intention to continue such expert-level meetings in the future to further enhance dialogue and mutual understanding.
