Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia received the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran

On December 24, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan received the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia, Khalil Shirgholami on the occasion of handing over the copies of his credentials.

The Deputy Minister extended his congratulations to the Ambassador on the commencement of his mission and expressed confidence that he would make a valuable contribution to the further strengthening and deepening of the relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the discussion following the ceremony of the handing over of the copies of the credentials, the sides emphasized the strategic nature of the dialogue between Armenia and Iran, the well-established atmosphere of mutual trust, as well as their shared readiness to continue and expand multi-sectoral cooperation, particularly within the framework of infrastructure projects.

The interlocutors also exchanged views on a number of issues on the regional and international agenda.
